French Polynesia is a 14-day charter, not a 7-day charter. The cruising ground covers 2,000 nautical miles east-to-west, the embarkation port is Papeete on Tahiti, and the flight time is 8 hours from Los Angeles or roughly 24 from London. Charter rates for the 40m to 90m fleet run $220K to $1.2M per week as of May 2026, plus 30 to 35% APA. Most clients who book a 7-day Society Islands-only week regret the math afterward. Most who book the 14-day Society-plus-Tuamotus combined route consider it the strongest South Pacific charter they have done.
The reason is the Tuamotus. The Society Islands (Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Raiatea, Tahaa, Huahine) are the postcard. The Tuamotus, an archipelago of 78 atolls 200 nautical miles northeast of Tahiti, are the cruising ground. The atoll diving, the manta and shark passes, and the empty anchorages are why the better captains in this region work this fleet. A charter that stops at Bora Bora and goes home has skipped the part of French Polynesia that justifies the flights.
