Corfu sits at the northwest corner of Greece across the 2-kilometre channel from the Albanian and Epirus mainland coasts, with a permanent population of 100,000 across the 610-square-kilometre island and a 217-kilometre coastline. The day-charter calendar runs April to October with the peak from late June to mid-September. A 45-foot sailing catamaran with crew for a 7-hour Paxos and Antipaxos rotation in July runs €2,000 to €3,200 plus the 13% Greek VAT, fuel, and gratuity on top. The day-charter inventory operates from two main bases: Gouvia Marina at the east coast 7 kilometres north of Corfu Town (canonical, all bands, the largest marina in Greece at 1,235 berths), and Mandraki Marina at the Corfu Old Port at the east of Corfu Town (budget and midmarket, Corfu Town stay-adjacent pickup). Corfu International Airport (CFU) handles the air access with the canonical 10 to 25 minute road transfer to the two bases.

The point of a Corfu day charter on a 6 to 9 hour rotation is the Paxos and Antipaxos south-Ionian island cluster (the Paxos island 8 to 12 nautical miles south of Corfu with the Lakka, Loggos, and Gaios east-coast village stops, the Paxos west-coast blue-cave cluster at Ortholithos and Ipapanti, and the Antipaxos uninhabited island 1 nautical mile south of Paxos with the Voutoumi, Vrika, and Mesovrika sand-bottom anchor cluster), the Sivota mainland and the Erimitis peninsula (the Sivota Greek mainland 6 nautical miles east of north Corfu with the Mourtos and Sivota anchor cluster across the three islands of Mavro Oros, Agios Nikolaos, and Mourtemeno; and the Erimitis peninsula at the north Corfu east coast with the Erimitis lakes and the Akoli beach), the north Corfu blue lagoon and Diapontia islands (the Sidari Canal d'Amour, the Kassiopi north-coast village stop, and the Diapontia islands cluster of Othoni, Erikoussa, and Mathraki northwest of Corfu), and the Albanian Riviera and Saranda extension (the Saranda port and Ksamil islands cluster on the Albanian south coast, requires customs clearance).

The day-charter pattern combines a 9am to 9:30am Gouvia or Mandraki departure, a 90 to 120 minute south or southeast cruise to the Paxos and Antipaxos cluster, a 4 to 5 hour Paxos-Antipaxos anchor sequence (typically the Voutoumi swim anchor at the Antipaxos north, lunch at the Vrika or Mesovrika anchor, the Paxos blue-cave cruise at the Ortholithos and Ipapanti caves, and a Lakka or Loggos village tender stop), a 90 to 120 minute return cruise, and a 5pm to 6pm departure-base return.

When to day-charter Corfu

April. Shoulder. Water 16 to 18 degrees Celsius, air 17 to 22. Working operators open inventory from 1 April with the canonical Greek-Easter opening pattern. The April booking pattern at 45 to 60 percent of August peak rates with the cleanest Antipaxos anchor pool at the 1 to 5-boat Voutoumi calendar.

May. Shoulder. Water 17 to 20 degrees, air 19 to 24. Working April pattern continues with rates climbing to 55 to 70 percent of August peak. The cleanest May booking is the second-half-of-May window at the warmer-water and cleaner-light calendar.

June. Shoulder through 15 June, peak thereafter. Water 19 to 23 degrees, air 22 to 27. The post-Easter window at 65 to 80 percent of August peak. From 20 June the Ionian peak calendar opens with rates climbing to 80 to 95 percent of August peak through 30 June.

July and August. Peak. Water 23 to 26 degrees, air 26 to 31. The canonical Corfu peak window. Unlike the Cyclades, the Ionian runs the calmer Maistro northwest-wind pattern (the 8 to 18 knot Maistro versus the 15 to 30 knot Cyclades Meltemi), so the day-charter calendar holds at the clean-day pattern across most of the peak window. The UK and German family-holiday calendar absorbs the Corfu day-charter market. Rates at 95 to 100 percent of peak through 31 August. Book 8 to 14 weeks out for the premium 50-foot-and-up inventory at Gouvia.

September. Peak through 10 September, shoulder thereafter. Water 23 to 25 degrees, air 24 to 28. The first 10 days at full peak; from 15 September the shoulder pattern begins with rates dropping to 65 to 80 percent of August peak. The cleanest September window is the post-15 September pattern with the warmest sea-temperature calendar and the cleaner Antipaxos anchor pool.

October. Shoulder. Water 21 to 24 degrees, air 19 to 25. Working off-peak rates at 50 to 65 percent of August peak. The cleanest October pattern runs the first three weeks. Operators wind down inventory 31 October.

November to March. Working off-peak. The Corfu day-charter inventory does not operate through winter; the Gouvia Marina and Mandraki Marina year-round inventory runs at the sheltered-day private-pickup pattern only.

The Corfu day-charter zones

Antipaxos anchor cluster (the canonical Corfu day-charter axis). The uninhabited Antipaxos island 1 nautical mile south of Paxos. The Voutoumi swim anchor at depths 4 to 10 metres on the white-sand bottom (the canonical Antipaxos anchor with the tender shore-landing at the Bella Vista taverna), the Vrika beach anchor at the Antipaxos northwest, and the Mesovrika cove anchor at the Antipaxos west. The cleanest Ionian sand-bottom turquoise-water anchor cluster.

Paxos west-coast blue-cave cluster. The 7-kilometre Paxos west coast cruise from Lakka south to Mongonisi. The Ortholithos sea-stack swim anchor, the Ipapanti and Petriti blue-cave cruise (the tender-and-swim entry into the Paxos west-coast caves at depths 8 to 30 metres on the volcanic-cliff bottom), and the Erimitis west-coast cliffs cruise. The canonical Paxos cliff-and-cave west-axis.

Paxos east-coast village cluster. The 12-kilometre Paxos east coast cruise from Lakka north to Mongonisi south. The Lakka harbour anchor at the north Paxos with the Lakka village tender stop, the Loggos harbour anchor at the Paxos east-centre with the Loggos village tender stop and the Gaios harbour and town tender stop at the Paxos south (the Paxos main harbour with the Agios Nikolaos islet at the harbour mouth). The canonical Paxos village rotation.

Sivota mainland and the Sivota islands. The 6 nautical mile east cruise to the Sivota mainland village on the Greek mainland Epirus coast. The three Sivota islands of Mavro Oros, Agios Nikolaos, and Mourtemeno at the Sivota harbour mouth, the Pisina blue-water swim anchor between the islands, and the Sivota village tender stop. The alternative east-mainland day pattern.

North Corfu and Erimitis peninsula. The Erimitis peninsula at the north Corfu east coast (the Erimitis lakes and the Akoli beach), the Kassiopi north-coast village tender stop, and the Sidari Canal d'Amour at the Corfu north tip. The short-day north Corfu pattern from Gouvia.

Albanian Riviera extension (long-day, customs). The 18 to 28 nautical mile northeast crossing to the Saranda port and the Ksamil islands cluster on the Albanian south coast. The long-day Corfu extension on the 50-foot-and-up motor-yacht inventory, requires the Saranda port customs clearance at the entry pattern.

This is the canonical Corfu 8-hour Paxos and Antipaxos rotation on a 45 to 55 foot sailing catamaran or motor yacht with 8 to 12 guests. The structure adjusts for the Sivota mainland short-day pattern (which substitutes the Paxos rotation with the Sivota islands cluster on a 5 to 7 hour day from Gouvia), for the Erimitis north-coast pattern (which substitutes the Paxos rotation with the Erimitis-Kassiopi-Sidari cluster on the forecast-low north day), and for the Albanian Riviera extension (which moves to a 9 to 11 hour day with the Saranda customs clearance and the Ksamil islands swim cluster).

Corfu day-charter boat size guidance

28 to 38 foot motorboats and ribs. €600 to €1.8K per day, 6 to 12 guests, skipper-included. The budget Corfu day-charter band; the cleanest fit for the short-day Sivota or Paxos pattern from Gouvia.

38 to 50 foot motor yachts and sailing catamarans. €1.8K to €3.5K per day, 8 to 12 guests, crew of 1 to 2. The midmarket Corfu day-charter band; the cleanest fit for the full Paxos and Antipaxos rotation. The Lagoon, Bali, Sunseeker, and Princess inventory.

50 to 65 foot motor yachts and sailing catamarans. €3.5K to €6K per day, 10 to 12 guests, crew of 2 to 4, on-board chef on the 55-foot-and-up. The premium midmarket band with the structured Paxos, Antipaxos, and mainland Sivota rotation capacity.

65 to 80 foot motor yachts. €6K to €9K per day, 12 guests, full crew of 3 to 6, tender garage. The premium day-charter band with the structured Albanian Riviera extension and the multi-stop Ionian capacity.

80 to 95 foot motor yachts. €9K to €11K per day, 12 guests, full crew of 5 to 7, overnight extension capacity. The extension-charter band for clients combining Corfu day product with overnight at Paxos, Lefkada, or the Ionian multi-day trip pattern.

Corfu day-charter cost math

Line item Range (45-foot catamaran, 8-hour Paxos and Antipaxos day, July peak)
Boat day rate €2K to €3.2K
Greek VAT (13% on charter) €0.26K to €0.42K
Fuel (typical 8-hour day, 35 nautical miles, at-cost, low under sail) €0.18K to €0.55K
Crew gratuity (10% to 15% standard in Greece) €0.2K to €0.48K
Provisioning (lunch, drinks, operator-provided) €0.4K to €1.2K
Gouvia or Mandraki day-stop slip €0.04K to €0.22K
Working full check (8-hour Paxos day, anchor-only) €3.1K to €5.8K
Working full check (10-hour Albanian Riviera day, 60-foot motor) €7K to €11K
Peak August premium (1.3x to 1.6x rate) €4.5K to €9K

The Corfu day-charter cost runs at the lower end of the Greek day-charter market on a per-day basis, with a 25 to 40 percent discount versus the Mykonos equivalent at the same length. The sailing catamaran inventory at the 45 to 55 foot band runs the lowest fuel-burn line versus the motor-yacht equivalent. The 13% Greek VAT runs the lowest tax-overhead line in the Mediterranean day-charter market. The cost-control move is the June or post-15 September booking at 60 to 80 percent of August peak, the sailing catamaran booking pattern at 50 to 70 percent of the motor-yacht day rate at the same length, and the Mandraki Old Port departure pattern (which substitutes the Gouvia transient-slip pattern with the Old Port Corfu Town pickup at the cleaner pricing).

Operator ranking (the day-charter inventory)

We rank rather than list. The Corfu day-charter operator inventory we would book runs at the following band:

Corfu Yachting and Ionian Charter Group (Gouvia Marina). Holds the operator-direct 35 to 90 foot motor-yacht and sailing-catamaran inventory at Gouvia Marina with the Sunseeker, Princess, Azimut, Lagoon, Bali, and Beneteau Oceanis inventory. Working operator-direct booking, Greek charter licensing, on-board chef capability at the 55-foot-and-up, Albanian Riviera customs handling, and the full-day Paxos, Antipaxos, and Sivota rotation capacity. The cleanest single operator-direct booking pattern at the working €2K-and-up Corfu day-charter band.

Mandraki Yachts and Corfu Old Port Charter (Mandraki Marina). Holds the operator-direct 30 to 55 foot motorboat and small motor-yacht inventory at the Mandraki Marina at the Corfu Old Port with the Corfu Town stay-adjacent pickup pattern. The cleanest fit for clients staying at the Corfu Town hotel cluster and combining the Corfu Town walk-on pickup with the Sivota or Paxos day rotation.

Sail Ionian and Catamaran Corfu (Gouvia and Lefkada). Holds the operator-direct 40 to 65 foot sailing catamaran and sailing yacht inventory at the Gouvia Marina with the Lagoon, Bali, Fountaine Pajot, and Beneteau Oceanis inventory. The cleanest fit for the full-day sailing pattern at the stable-platform swim and lunch calendar and the sailing-school day pattern.

Click and Boat Corfu and SamBoat Corfu. Holds the aggregator inventory at the Gouvia, Mandraki, and Sivota bases with the 28 to 60 foot inventory across the budget and midmarket bands. Working aggregator interface, insurance, and captain-included pattern at the 30-foot-and-up.

Boatsetter Corfu. Holds the second-tier aggregator inventory at the comparable bases with the comparable inventory pool. The cleaner alternative for clients comparing Click and Boat and SamBoat budget-band quotes.

We rank Corfu Yachting and Sail Ionian at the top of the Corfu day-charter operator inventory list because the full-day Paxos and Antipaxos rotation requires the operator-specific anchor knowledge across the Voutoumi, Vrika, and Mesovrika cluster, the Albanian Riviera customs handling requires the operator-specific entry-clearance knowledge, and the Paxos blue-cave cruise requires the operator-specific cave-entry and tide knowledge.

Three things we would change

The Voutoumi anchor at peak July and August Saturday and Sunday runs the anchor at 30 to 70 anchored boats with the tender congestion at the Bella Vista taverna landing. The cleanest single fix is the weekday booking (Monday through Thursday) at the 8 to 25-boat Voutoumi calendar, the morning anchor before 11am (which clears the noon to 3pm peak congestion), or the Mesovrika or Vrika substitution (which holds 5 to 15 anchored boats versus the Voutoumi 30 to 70).

The Gouvia Marina transient slip pool at peak July and August runs the capacity-limited full-week absorption pattern across the 1,235-berth marina with the day-charter operator berth occupancy plus the flotilla-charter overnight occupancy. The cleanest single fix is the operator-direct booking through Corfu Yachting or Sail Ionian (which holds the berth pattern at the operator-specific slip allocation), or the Mandraki Old Port substitution (which trades the Gouvia 7-kilometre-from-Corfu-Town pattern for the Old Port walk-on pickup at the Old Fortress front).

The Albanian Riviera customs clearance at Saranda port runs the entry-clearance pattern at the 60 to 90 minute customs window, with the visa-on-arrival pattern for non-Greek and non-Albanian passports. The cleanest single fix is the operator-direct booking through Corfu Yachting (which handles the customs interface at the operator-specific pre-clearance pattern) or the Albanian Riviera substitution to the Paxos and Antipaxos pattern (which removes the customs overhead entirely).

FAQ

Do I need to book a Corfu day charter in advance? For July and August peak, yes. Book 8 to 14 weeks out for the premium 50-foot-and-up inventory at Gouvia Marina. May, June, and post-15 September open inventory on 1 to 2 week notice at the shoulder rates. Compared to Mykonos and Santorini, Corfu booking timelines run 2 to 4 weeks shorter on the comparable inventory.

Should I depart Gouvia or Mandraki for Paxos? Gouvia for the full inventory pool and the premium 50-foot-and-up booking pattern. Mandraki for clients staying at the Corfu Town hotel cluster and combining the Corfu Town walk-on pickup with the Paxos day rotation. Both bases sit within 7 kilometres of Corfu Town and 10 to 25 minutes from CFU airport.

Can I day-charter from Corfu to Albania? Yes on the 50-foot-and-up motor-yacht inventory through the operator-direct customs clearance pattern. The Saranda port crossing runs 18 to 28 nautical miles at the 60 to 90 minute transit, plus the customs clearance at 60 to 90 minutes per leg. Verify the 2026 Albania entry rules for charter clients at booking.

What size group fits a Corfu day charter? 6 to 12 guests on the 28 to 38 foot motorboat and rib band, 8 to 12 on the 40 to 55 foot motor-yacht and sailing-catamaran band, 10 to 12 on the 55 to 95 foot inventory (capped at 12 on the Greek commercial day-charter limit), 12+ on the two-yacht booking pattern via Corfu Yachting or Ionian Charter Group.
